Glow stones are broken pieces of stone that store light during the day and release it again in the dark – without electricity, cables or batteries. The blue-tinted stones add a touch of colour by day and glow blue in the dark after charging. They can be placed loose in beds or pots, or worked into concrete, resin and terrazzo.
Properties
- Shape: irregularly broken pieces of stone, approx. 2 cm each
- Material: based on strontium aluminate
- Afterglow duration: approx. 1 hour after a full charge in complete darkness
- Charging: with daylight or artificial light, as often as you like; a few seconds to minutes are enough, fastest with UV light
- Use: indoors and outdoors
- Classification: not classified as hazardous under CLP
How to use the glow stones
- Loose as decoration: in garden gravel, flower pots, planters, vases, rock gardens or along paths.
- In resin: embed in epoxy or casting resin, for example for bowls, table tops or decorative objects.
- Concrete, terrazzo, stair treads: press into the still damp surface and grind flush after curing – if mixed into the compound, the stones disappear. Alternatively, embed them in a transparent, walk-on layer.
- Outdoors: choose a spot that gets enough light during the day.
What's included
300 g glow stones Blue, piece size approx. 2 cm, in a poly bag.
Good to know
Afterglow is an aid for orientation and effects, not lighting: it is visible in real darkness, barely under a street lamp. The stones are not a toy.
