Glow-in-the-dark printing resin for resin 3D printers with a UV light source around 405 nm. The glow pigments are already mixed in: printed objects charge with light and glow green in the dark. The resin prints like standard resins; no special settings are needed. Green is the base shade of glow pigments and glows most brightly.

Properties

  • Printers: DLP, SLA, LFS, LCD and LCS with a UV source around 405 nm
  • Contents: 500 g in a light-protected, leak-proof bottle
  • Glow colour: green; afterglow duration approx. 4 hours, depending on charging, in complete darkness
  • Print result: high hardness, low shrinkage, low odour during processing
  • Mixable: with other printing resins – the glow intensity then decreases proportionally
  • Data sheets: safety data sheet and technical data sheet available as downloads

How to print with the glow resin

  1. Shake the bottle vigorously for at least 2 minutes before pouring. The pigments are heavier than the resin and settle.
  2. Start with your printer's standard settings. Because of the slightly thicker consistency, increase the light-off time by 1–2 seconds if necessary.
  3. Keep printed objects to a maximum height of approx. 10 cm; during longer prints the pigments can sink slightly and the object glows unevenly.
  4. After printing, pour the leftover resin back into the bottle so that you can reuse it.

Tip for the Elegoo Mars: The build plate has a release coating from the factory. Sand it lightly with sandpaper that is not too coarse and choose a burn-in exposure of at least 60 seconds – in our experience the print then adheres well.

Good to know

CLP labelling: signal word Warning. Causes skin irritation (H315) and serious eye irritation (H319), may cause an allergic skin reaction (H317) and may cause respiratory irritation (H335); harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects (H412). Wear protective gloves and eye protection and ensure good ventilation. Details in the safety data sheet. Solid areas glow more strongly than thin walls. Afterglow is a visual effect and an aid to orientation, visible in real darkness.

Frequently asked questions

Which printers does the resin work with?
With resin printers that work with UV light around 405 nm: DLP, SLA, LFS, LCD and LCS. No special settings are needed; if necessary, increase the light-off time by 1–2 seconds.
How long do the printed objects glow?
Expect approx. 4 hours in complete darkness – depending on how well the object was charged beforehand. It is at its strongest in the first few minutes; solid areas glow more strongly than thin walls.
Why do I have to shake the bottle for so long?
The glow pigments are heavier than the resin and settle. Shaking vigorously for at least 2 minutes distributes them evenly – otherwise the object glows patchily.
Can I mix the resin with other resin?
Yes. It can be mixed with other printing resins; the glow intensity decreases proportionally.
How do green and green-blue differ?
Green is the base shade of glow pigments and glows most brightly. Green-blue glows with a slightly cooler tone.
