It is at its most intense in the first few minutes, then gradually turns into a faint glimmer. Once your eyes have adjusted to the darkness, it remains visible for much longer. The glow of the fairy-tale designs is deliberately subdued: the design is meant to accompany children as they fall asleep, not to dazzle.
